Anima Mundi was created by Adriana Ayales. She hails from the Costa Rican rainforest where immersed in the shamanic energy of the jungle, she cultivated a spiritual herbal craft.
Her practice led her to New York City. She brought the soul of the rainforest with her and opened her herbal apothecary Anima Mundi Herbals in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, where she sources fresh, medicinal botanicals directly from native people within Central and South America. Their laboratory is based in NYC and is composed of aspiring herbalists and nature-lovers.

The mission of Anima Mundi Herbals is to preserve ancient and traditional remedies with sustainable practice. As a company, they source from farmers in Central and South America as well as small farmers from around the world. Their apothecary contains over 200 different herbs, which they formulate into elixirs, tonics and powders in order to bring a wide range of formulas for wellness and longevity.
The word ‘anima mundi’ means ‘soul’ in Latin.
Anima Mundi’s mission is to promote a natural form of healthcare that is in partnership with nature. The root of the company’s intention is to utilize ancient healing methods applied and studied by those that have lived in the rainforest for many years.
Anima Mundi can be purchased on The Alchemist’s Kitchen’s website or at any of our retail locations.
